PROVISIONAL CONSTITUTION (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 2000

Chief Executive Order No. 10 of 2000

An Order further to amend the Provisional Constitution Order No. 1 of 1999.


Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Provisional Constitution Order No. l of 1999 for the purposes hereinafter appearing;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the Proclamation of Emergency of 14th day of October, 1999 and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is pleased to make and promulgate the following Order:-

1. Short title and commencement.
(1) This Order may be called the Provisional Constitution (Amendment) Order, 2000.
(2) It shall come into force at once and shall be deemed to have taken effect on and from the fourteenth day of October, 1999.
2. Amendment of Article 5, Order 1 of 1999
In the Provisional Constitution Order No. 1 of 1999, the existing Article 5 shall be re-numbered as clause (1) of that Article and after clause (1) re-numbered as aforesaid, the following clause shall be added, namely:--
"(2) In all Laws including all Acts, Ordinances, Orders, Rules, Bye-laws, Regulations, Notifications and all other legal instruments in force in any part of Pakistan whether made by the President or the Governor of a Province, the words "Prime Minister" and the words "Chief Minister", wherever occurring, shall be deemed substituted by the words " Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan" and "Governor" respectively."
